Brian Fox (Little Fox) was involved in a bad motorcycle accident on July 14th, he has sustained several injuries and has remained in the ICU until July 19th. Brian has been diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury known as a Defused Axonal Injury. Brian is going to require aggressive Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (rehab) to have a chance at a full recovery. In order to do this Brian will have to go to an inpatient rehab facility outside the State of New Mexico where he will receive treatment for six months to a year.
As all of you may know Brian is a part-time employee with the City of Albuquerque and has been working in the Emergency Operations Center during the COVID pandemic as well as Lifeguard at various pools throughout Albuquerque. Brian has also spent the last two fire seasons working at New Mexico State Forestry and Volunteering at Corrales Fire Department as a Wildland Firefighter. He has been deployed to multiple wildfires throughout New Mexico and California.
We know Brian is loved by so many family and friends, we have already felt the impact with all of the love and support from everyone who has been reaching out. Brian is strong and he is a fighter, he will recover from this! He has already removed phrases and words from his vocabulary such as, I can’t, I won’t, I’m too tired and no. We will be by Brian’s side every step of the way to push him and encourage him to achieve 100% recovery. However, there are many expenses needed for his recovery and we are humbly asking for your help.
Thank you to all of you who have reached out and will be reaching out. We can not take this journey without you, please send us positive energy and prayers, we need them. Your support is amazing! Our words can’t express enough of our gratitude, we wish we could reach out and hug everyone of you to say thank you.
