Little Ashlan and her family need your help!

Hi, my name is Christy. I’m a good friend of Ashleigh, Little Ashlan’s Mommy. Ashleigh and I worked together, a long time ago, at Cracker Barrel and became instant friends. Ashleigh is one of the most selfless people I’ve ever known. I would like to give you a little back story on her journey.
I witnessed Ashleigh struggle with infertility for years. And all of the heart ache that comes along with it. Seeing her friends have baby after baby, trying to be happy for them. While aching inside for one of her own. After many years. Maybe a decade? Giving up that dream and trying to come to terms with never being a Mother. Though, for those of us that know her. We know she was always one at heart.
Last year, surprisingly, she became pregnant. With twin girls!!! She ended up having pregnancy complications. Causing her to be hospitalized and out of work at her job as a Dialysis RN since May of 2023.
The doctors knew that baby Ashlan was going to be born with some health issues. She didn’t develop kidneys. However, they expected the second baby, Aleigh, to be born healthy.
The twins were taken by C-section, on 7/09, at 32 weeks. They discovered that little Aleigh had a lack of blood flow to her brain while she was in the womb. It caused serious damage to her little brain.
On August 2, 2023, Ashleigh and her husband, Alan, took their precious baby girl home, under hospice care. Sweet Aleigh passed away early that evening.
Baby Ashlan is still in the hospital, battling for her life. She will be on dialysis for the foreseeable future. Until a kidney transplant can be done. She’s been fighting infection and having issues with her dialysis catheter. Already had a couple of surgeries. Now she’s developed a bacterial infection in her blood. Just so many things going on with her health. On top of grieving the loss of Aleigh, for her parents to go through.
My heart is broken for this sweet family. They have such a long road ahead.
As I’ve said, Ashleigh has been out of work at her job as a dialysis RN since May. They have the burden of all of her hospital bills. The strain of her being out of work to be with Ashlan. And I can only imagine what the financial strain will be for the upcoming bills for Ashlan. I’m writing all of this in the hopes that I can rally and outpouring of support for this family. I would love for them not to have to worry about how they are going to make this all work financially and just be able to focus on their daughter, her health, and getting passed this difficult time. I’m praying for the light at the end of this dark tunnel, and that soon they can bring a heathy, thriving baby girl home. Until then, if you can, please donate to this cause. If you can’t , please share, so as many people as possible see this. Thank you!!!
All donations will go directly to Ashleigh.
