Hello, my name is Raghad Abu Amer. I’m a 15-year-old Palestinian girl from Gaza. The war has taken my home, my childhood, and my sense of safety. Yet, I refuse to give up on my dreams. Before the war, I went to school every day, but now my education has stopped. I dream of returning to my studies one day, because school means my entire future.
I also have a deep passion for painting—it is not just a hobby, but part of my soul. You can see my artworks on my page. I no longer have a safe and quiet place to draw what I imagine. Instead, I see a harsh reality around me that makes it hard to focus and create. But despite everything, I continue painting every single day. Painting is the only way I can express my feelings and the story of Gaza.
Sadly, my family and I lost our home—the place of our laughter, childhood, and dreams. Now, we are displaced, living in a tent in Al-Mawasi. Life is extremely difficult: we face hunger, constant fear, the pain of losing loved ones, and the harsh realities of war and displacement every day.
On top of these hardships, I also suffer from a health condition that requires treatment outside Gaza. Unfortunately, because of the war, I cannot travel to receive the care I need. This makes life even harder for me, but I still hold on to my art and my dream of a better future.
This fundraiser will help me buy art supplies (canvas, colors, brushes) and also support my chance to continue my education. These are the two things I hold onto most: my art and my future.
Every little support will make a huge difference—it will not only give me the tools to keep painting, but also the hope that my dreams are still alive.
Together, we can keep my art and future alive.
