Hi dear friends,

I am writing this with a heavy heart on behalf of both my beautiful daughter Katelyn and my son In law Zachary.
Some of you may already know a bit of Katelyns background, she was tragically involved in an unfortunate event which, when 23 wks pregnant with her 1st child, she was burnt to nearly 30% of her body. She was airlifted by rfds to the royal brisbane hospital, where she had the fight of her life. This fight was not only for her life but for the life of her unborn child. Thankfully, after multiple operations, 1 week in icu then 3 months in the burns unit, we all finally got to come home for the long emotional, physical and mental journey of recovery and for her pregnancy to progress.
Onto present day, Katelyn and Zachary had already gone through so much in the past and over the last 9yrs. They had finally gotten themselves to the point where they could try for another baby. On the 30th of April this year, Katelyn and Zachary welcomed there 2nd little blessing into the world, little Adriana Everything was perfect until routine testing was done at the Emerald hospital. This led the drs picking up an irregularity so they proceeded to contact the Queensland Childrens Hospital in Brisbane. Turned out little baby Adriana had a heart condition. In a whirlwind of emotions, Katelyn and Adriana were air lifted by rfds and rushed to Brisbane where Adriana, at 1wk old, had open heart surgery to try and save her little life. Zachary then followed down in the car to be there for his family. With Katelyn being only on maternity leave and Zachary also on his leave, being down in Brisbane, away from home, your child, and bills still to pay, the costs racked up fast. Zachary burnt threw all his leave, annual, savings just so they both could be by little Adriana's side. Adriana's recovery after surgery, left them in Brisbane for over 5 wks. This was sadly not the end. She then stopped gaining weight at around 9 weeks old. Adriana and Katelyn were then admitted to the Rockhampton base hospital to try and help her gain weight. After 2wks there, and a feeding tube later, they were discharged with not much change then when they arrived. One week from their discharge from Rockhampton hospital, on the 24th of July 2026, it was their 1st child Kiara's 9th birthday, aswell as being Adriana's 1st cardiac appointment. Everything was going well until they did Adriana's heart echo. Everyones day changed, as myself, Katelyn and Adriana were rushed back to Brisbane. The cardiac team had found that little Adriana's slow growth was associated with another problem. Adrianas veins were narrowing with fibrosis and closing off. This is causing stress on the right side of her heart and it is starting to fail.
Myself, Adriana and mum Katelyn are currently at the childrens hospital at present and have been since the 25th of July 2026. Dad Zachary, hasn't been able to be with us sadly, as he is trying his best by working just to keep there heads afloat financially. Sadly all his leave, annual and savings were used up when Adriana had her 1st life saving operation. This time, with there finances already exhausted, they are needing your help. They are very proud people, and asking for help is so very hard to do. Emotionally, physically and financially, being here once again, away from home over 800kms away, has been very draining for them and for myself. Little Adriana will be going in for another life saving operation tomorrow, Tuesday the 4th of August 2026 This time stakes are higher as she only has a 20% chance out of 100% of this being successful.
Its going to be another long road of recovery, if our little love pulls through this . We can only pray and put out positive and healing thoughts for her, and big love and support for mum, dad and big sissy Kiara xo
If anyone would like to support them, whether it be a donation, a share, or some supportive words/prayers/positive energy it would all be a massive help to the family at this time.

Some photos are from her previous surgery but she will be going through the same process sadly x

I will keep everyone up to date with her progress x

Thankyou all
