Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to help CommunicationFIRST crowd-fund to help pay for the award-winning 5 minute documentary film LISTEN, made by and with nonspeaking autistic people in response to Sia's movie MUSIC. Any donation will help!
Sia pledged to fund this effort but then backed out. Read the full story and related press here: https://communicationfirst.org/LISTEN
In six short months, LISTEN has been viewed over 200,000 times on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, with no paid marketing. It's been translated into 6 other languages, screened by TwitterVoices, and is now an official selection of the 2021 Astoria Film Festival! It's become part of college and high school curricula, and has had tremendous impact.
Feedback on the film:
"Absolutely wonderful. This is the best educational piece about the importance of listening I’ve seen. I feel like it should be a foundational part of any curriculum or training on facilitating dialogue regardless of whether the program is disability specific (and maybe expecially if not)."
"Please watch and share. I cried, it’s so beautifully crafted and so special."
"It's outstanding! Beautiful and incredible. What a powerful and important project to be a part of. Everyone involved deserves a standing ovation."
"I want every person on the planet to see this. Thank you, Communication First!!"
"This film is wonderful! It will change people’s incorrect assumptions. I hope it will be widely disseminated- for teacher prep programs, for police training, for parent education programs, for prep in service training for all human services organizations! Kudos and thank you! ♥️"
Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause! Making this film was not in CommunicationFIRST's budget; crowd-funding is essential!
