Lisenby Family Emergency Relief
Donation protected
Pictured here are me, LoConda Lisenby, and my mother Delores, a woman whom I love immensely.
In 2015, I lost my job as a case manager for a Chicago nonprofit because of state budget cuts. While it was clear many others would be in the same position because of layoffs, I was hopeful that God would help me and my family get through a challenging time. And He did. Months later, I gained part-time employment and was able to make just enough money to sustain our expenses.
But in September 2016, when my 84-year-old mother suffered a stroke, I took a short leave from my part-time job to be at my mother's side. However, that leave into permanent termination from my position meaning we would have very little income to make ends meet.
We're thankful for the grace God showed our family over the several weeks my mother was recovering from the stroke in the Intensive Care Unit and later during hospitalization and rehabilitation. While she has regained some of her abilities, she is immobile and requires 24-hour assistance to bathe, clothe, move and eat.
We could not have gotten this far without the generosity and kindness of close friends, our church, and diligent neighbors. But now we are at the end of our funds and could use your help.
The money you donate will go to:
-Rent
-Medical supplies
-Paying off hospital and medical debts
-Credit card bills
-Utility bills
Any amount will help! The money you give will greatly help us both. Thank you and God bless you.
