Lisely & Jonathan's Fire Recovery

Hi! My name is Kiersten and if you don't know me, I am a teacher in New Jersey. I met Lisely four years ago when she became my principal and she quickly became a close friend and mentor that I could count on.

Lisely posted this status on Facebook on 8/22/23:

Last Sunday night our neighbors home caught fire and as a result he lost his home and ours was severely damaged. We are not able to return to our home in God knows how long or if we have to rent elsewhere. In the meantime we are staying at a hotel.

This is devastating for me and my husband. The children don’t have the things they are used to. We don’t know when we can reenter the house to extract any belongings and don’t know the conditions of anything inside either. The house has water and smoke damage. All the windows and glass doors are broken. The ceiling is also damaged.

I am reaching out to see if anyone has or knows someone you could help in finding us a temporary place to stay while we wait and see the outcomes or permanently rent a new house. We are in Marlton.

Lisely and Jonathan did not have renter's insurance unfortunately to help them with replacing the items that have been lost as a result of the fire. Their family also primarily lives in Puerto Rico so they are a bit more limited in terms of family to help them recover from this setback and on top of that...Lisely is a school principal who is set to start a school year at a new school in a couple of short weeks.

Please join me in reminding Lisely and Jonathan that they have established a supportive family here and not just in Puerto Rico. Please consider donating to help them bounce back from this hugely unexpected setback.
