Trueblood & fam lightning fire fund

On Wednesday evening, the house my family and I rent on Ashley Downs in Apex, NC was struck by lightning, which ignited a fire -http://abc11.com/weather/severe-storm-lightning-spark-fires-across-central-nc/1387732/

Luckily, no one was in the house at the time and the firefighters were able to save our guinea pigs - Tom and Jerry.  And our cat, Socrates, who is micro-chipped ran out of the house, and is still missing.

I am so grateful and overwhelmed with the outpouring of support and many people have asked me how they can help, so I thought I would give them a central place to donate to help my family if they'd like.  I'm a bit in shock now, so I'm not even sure if I will be making sense for a little while.  My whole family is in shock.  I am a single mom of 4 amazing and talented children - Amelia (19), Marie (15), Grace (12) and Peter (7).  Amelia is a college student at Appalachian State University, so she no longer lives with us full-time and was not there when the fire struck.

Unfortunately, I do not have renter's insurance, so what cannot be salvaged is lost.  And my landlord told me after consulting with insurance, the Town of Apex, etc. that it will be a long road for the house to be re-built and inspected for suitability and so on, so we really have to find a new place to live.  I'm going to try to look around the area for another 4 bedroom home to rent as we clean up the mess and try to re-build our lives and re-capture our memories.  And my Gracie girl has a special request that we live a lot closer to our church - Triangle Community Church located at 4216 Kildaire Farm Rd, Apex, NC 27539, since we are there most of the week anyway with youth groups, Awana, Sunday school, bible study and church service.

I've also asked my kids to make wish lists of their own to give them something to do during this time and will be creating an Amazon Wish List for them and for all of us.  But I was most concerned with letting them know that God is holding us in the palm of his hand even through this shocking and upsetting event.  Shortly after the storm that ignited my house, I heard this song on the radio and it gave me great comfort.  It was amazing, as if God were speaking to me directly.  I invite you to enjoy and take this message to heart.

Thank you so much from my family and God Bless you all for being his hands and feet.
