Hey all. My name is Lisa Forstinger and I have been struggling with chronic pain since October 2016. It came on all of a sudden with no injury, and has seriously been impacting my life and wellbeing.
I've seen so many doctors and specialists, and I have been in and out of the hospital. I have been really struggling both mentally and physically. Some of you may not know this, but I also have been battling Bipolar I disorder since high school. This pain I have been going through and this fear for my body has been triggering depressive and manic episodes which compound to make the pain even worse.
Despite so many tests already, the doctors still haven’t been able to figure out what exactly is going on in my body. In recent weeks, things have taken a turn for the worse.
I am now barely able to walk, I need a 'nurse' with me giving me constant care 24 hours a day because I have lost mobility and strength in my arms and legs. I need help even getting out of a chair by myself. I feel like I am deteriorating quickly and I am so scared. I'm 26 years old and I had to borrow my grandmother's walker to help me get around.
My doctor agrees that I need an urgent MRI (4 separate ones) to diagnose the issue but because of our health care system, ‘urgent’ in Canada means having to wait at least another month until the end February (and that is only for the first appointment. I need 4.)
He suggested going across the border to the Buffalo MRI clinic in the US and sent the paperwork and orders in, but it will cost $4000 for all the procedures I need. I can get the MRI’s as early as Monday (January 30th).
I'm asking for help because this pain is unbearable, and I don't have the funds to pay for these tests that I desperately need. Thank you so much in advance if you are considering making a donation. Honestly ANY little bit will help, and I will be eternally grateful for your generosity.
