Lisa’s Stroke Recovery Journey

Hi everyone, Rob here, Lisa’s domestic partner. I am creating a fundraiser for my dear Lisa who suffered a massive stroke at the end of August 2022. The stroke has severely impacted her left side, so much so that her left arm has remained non-functional. Initially, she couldn’t even muscle a smile, but fortunately her ability to smile is nearly recovered.
Since then, the recovery journey has been a major struggle, emotionally, physically, and financially. While fortunately Lisa has made some improvements, she is still relying on daily PT, OT, and overall care at the latest Rehab facility (this is Rehab facility #3). As for now, we do not exactly know if and when Lisa will be returning home.
Unfortunately, insurance has only covered so much. While we are waiting on Medicare to come through, Lisa has continued to require 24hr care in the Rebab facility. I am so grateful for the improvements that Lisa has made, however, we are now facing a series of medical bills that are growing by the day.
Should we be able to raise funds to help with our situation, we would be extremely grateful. The plan would be to apply any and all funds raised to cover the astronomical costs of Lisa’s continued care.
Day by day, hoping that the smallest of improvements at a time can one day soon, bring Lisa back home.
