Lisa’s fight with Cholangio Carcinoma
Donation protected
This is my dear friend Lisa,
She is only 43 years old and is a single Mum of 14 year old twin boys.
Lisa was first diagnosed with a rare type of cancer called Cholangio Carcinoma (Bile Duct Cancer) in 2019.
She underwent major abdominal surgery with a resection of her liver, removal of affected bile ducts and removal of the gall bladder. From here she went through radiation therapy and chemotherapy for 12 months, and was then given the all clear for just over 5 years.
This year, Lisa has recently been through a 2nd diagnosis of this rare cancer.
In October 2024 she had severe abdominal pain which was diagnosed as pancreatitis, but after being admitted to hospital twice they found that the cancer had returned.
In December she underwent a Wipple surgery, this included removal of her duodenum, part of her stomach, half of her pancreas and part of her small bowel.
During this surgery, she also had 15 lymph glands removed, with 1 testing malignant. This makes her Cancer Stage 3.
Being a single mum without the ability to work due to the recovery of surgery, and preparation of chemotherapy treatment has been hard for her and the family. She is struggling to make ends meet, especially after paying bills and buying food. However she is behind on pretty much everything.
Asking for help is something Lisa doesn’t take lightly, but with her health and work situation any help we can provide would greatly assist her and the boys through the next few months.
Let’s all help our beautiful friend Lisa!
Thank you,
Eliza
