Lisa Tarquini is widely known for her tireless work shining a spotlight on Perimenopause and Menopause in Hong Kong through her company The Menopause Space, and her annual What The Fog conferences. While to many, she is known as “The Menopause Lady”, she is also a mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, and colleague.
Her menopause work is a deeply personal quest after cancer 13 years ago caused the early onset of menopause, which led her on this path. This week, her path took a sudden and scary turn. After her recent WTF conference, she was admitted to hospital, where tests and scans revealed that her cancer has returned.
Lisa needs to leave Hong Kong immediately for treatment in Belfast, where her oncology team is waiting to begin her chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted drugs before Christmas.
Relocating her family - even temporarily - is the last thing Lisa wants to do. She has so much more work to do with The Menopause Space, her kids are happy at school, she loves her friends and village community, and it’s where her husband’s work is too. HK is their Home.
This sudden move not only comes at a huge physical and emotional cost, but a financial one too.
Lisa and her husband are being thrust back into a situation they hoped would never be a reality again - except this time with the addition of two young children.
In the coming months, Lisa’s energy will be focused on her treatment, while Marco’s focus will be on helping Lisa, with the added concern of settling their children into their new, albeit hopefully temporary home.
The next year is going to be difficult and expensive. Alleviating some of the financial stress that comes with a sudden move and inability to work for 12 months is the best way we can support Lisa and her family.
They have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support since she made her difficult announcement. If you could extend the same support financially, I know every little bit will help ease just some of the burden they are already facing. They need funds to cover moving and living expenses for the coming 6+ months.
Thank you sincerely for any donation you can give.
Please also keep them all in your prayers too, and wish Lisa all the strength she needs for her upcoming treatment. I will provide updates on her progress when I can.
