Lisa's Climbing Adventures and Story-Telling

Hello!
I am a 50-something-year-old pediatric cardiac critical care dietitian by trade, but in my early 40's I realized that I loved mountaineering and started heading for the hills! As I added mountains to my climbing resume, I also started writing about my adventures. Being both a latecomer to the field and a woman in a still very male-dominated, youthful sport has posed its challenges, but there are pioneers out there helping to pave the way. This includes organizations that support and facilitate young women and other underrepresented groups with scholarships to get into the mountains and teach them valuable skills. I contribute to these as often as I can, wishing an opportunity like this crossed my path long ago! Commercial mountaineering expeditions are essential for non-professional mountaineering people like me, and climbing safely with a reputable outfit is costly. This is worth every single penny as safety is paramount. This fund will help me continue my climbing career and to provide you with tales of adventure! Thank you for considering my cause.
With gratitude,
Lisa
