Hi, my name is Josie and I am raising money for my mom. As many of you know she has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma (severe brain cancer). For the past two months, she has been through a biopsy, major brain surgery, shunt placement, multiple infections, blood clots, a pulmonary embolism, and failed rehab attempts. Based on her most recent MRI, the tumor has grown back completely and is more aggressive than before. We have met with the oncology team, neurology, and radiology. As of now, they believe any further treatment would do more harm than good. We have decided as a family the best option we have is to bring her home on hospice. This has completely shocked and devastated all of us. She is only able to say a few words here and there when she feels like it. She is still awake at times giving her famous eye rolls and chuckles.
