Lisa Chaffins-Kuhn - Kidney SOS
Donation protected
Finally! As of 2PM today, Lisa Kuhn is on the INDIANA TRANSPLANT LIST!
Hallelujah Hallelujah!
Anyone interested in being tested to see if you're a match can contact Lutheran Transplant Center in Ft Wayne, IN, (260) [phone redacted].Ask for Brittany Groninger and mention Lisa's name to get scheduled.
Getting on the list means new expenses in addition to getting to/from dialysis three times a week. There is required counseling and trips to Ft Wayne. For that reason, I've updated her GO FUND ME one more time. All donations are appreciated ...especially if you can spare a kidney. :)
She was told that she'll need an A or O kidney. They won't tell her if someone calls to be tested, so feel free to let her know if you do!
gofundme.com/lisakuhn Lisa sends her thanks and appreciates the support!
Somehow I managed to overwrite Lisa’s story with an update.
As a lifelong diabetic, Lisa’s body has been through the wringer. 2017 was the hardest year yet as she underwent multiple surgeries to stabilize her heart in preparation for a kidney transplant list. Many rounds of infections and more surgeries followed the triple bypass as at-home dialysis continued.
2018 brought on hemo dialysis. The vein prepped in her arm, thought not ready, was finally approved for use. Lisa now goes to Decatur three times a week for dialysis.
Lisa has had numerous surgeries and infections since the last update. Those are all behind her now. She travels to dialysis three times a week. She’s still hopeful for kidney transplant and is pursuing a few options -locally and at the Cleveland Clinic. She would appreciate your donations for travel and to/from to pursue that need.
