Lost Home to the Flood
Donation protected
My name is Lisa Hudson, I live with my son, daughter, and grandaughter. During the floods my house was overtaken. I lost all of my appliances, outlets, and my 3 year old grandaughter, Hailey, lost the majority of her clothes and toys. We got her diapers and necessities out by the grace of God. It was at four a.m. that my family was hit by the flashflood. We had at least 10 minutes to gather what we could and leave before we would be swimming in the house. We had to swim out with our luggage through the yard. Thankfully our neighbors called us before the flooding could take my car. Without them, we would have lost way more than just our home and livelihood. We would have lost everything. We had about 18 inches enter the house, so we're raising money to fix the walls, the outlets, to replace our appliances, as well as to help sanitize all of our belongings since our septic came up through the plumbing and drains. The sooner we can raise the funds the better. We're hoping FEMA will help us, but at this moment in time Montgomery county hasn't been officially declared as a disaster area and so they will not. We have reached out to the American Red Cross, but they haven't offered any help either. This would mean everything to me. I feel so helpless that I can't shelter my family anymore. We're staying at my oldest daughter's house, but it's not home and I hate to burden her. I pray everyday for the other famililes who have lost their homes and belongings as well. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. If you can donate anything, even a dollor, it will help my family. Thank you again, and God bless you all.
