My name is Lisa Vertovec Euthon and the picture you see is of my beautiful cousin Lia Vertovec.
Lia lives in Germany, which is amazing but it means that I haven't been able to see her in a long time, and that is a problem. You see, Lia was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. She was actually diagnosed not too long after I finished my chemo treatments for lymphoma. My battle is over but hers continues. It has been on my heart to see her for a long time now.
I am calling this My REACH OUT Trip. I am reaching out to you to help me reach out to my cousin. The funds raised will be used to pay for travel expenses. Flying from Kansas to Germany is more than what I am able to cover and I need your help. But that is not all!
I can't make this something that is just for me and my cousin. Lia and I will be REACHING out to others. We've decided that any funds beyond what is needed for travel will be donated to charities we have selected. I have chosen HOPE Wolrdwide as my charity and Lia is thinking about hers. But that is not all!
This is so important to me, not only to see Lia and donate to charity but to share a message of encouragement and support, especially to cancer fighters. With that being said, if I am able to make my goal by July 21st, I will be shaving my head. That's right! I will be a shavee! So many I love go bald as they fight this nasty battle and so I will go bald, too.
