Hey, Lisa here! Many of you know me as the fun, energetic, free-spirited girl always taking on life with no regrets or fear.
September 9th, 2022, my life literally changed before my eyes.
After experiencing many symptoms of not feeling well for months, such as night sweats, low iron levels and fatigue, an unexpected hospital visit led me to discover I was diagnosed with stage 4 large B Cell lymphoma.
Even though I pretty much diagnosed myself from obsessively googling my symptoms, I was not prepared to receive the news that I got that day.
I was immediately hospitalized, scheduled for a Blood transfusion, and immediately started chemo due to the severity of my cancer.
Because my cancer was very aggressive, my doctor warned me that we would undergo vigorous treatment. I had no idea what I was getting myself into.
With tumors in my liver, kidneys, and one in my chest, I knew this wasn’t gonna be a walk in the park, but I was ready to fight for my life and prove to the world how strong I can really be.
I was put on medical leave my job, which hurt very bad considering the fact I just started a few days prior to being diagnosed.
It is so unlike me to not be working & providing for myself because I am a girl who’s very independent,a girl who loves to be out and about, on my grind, which brings me here, four months in this journey, and it hasn’t been easy. I’ll be honest: This wasn’t the easiest decision for me to make.
For those who know me, Receiving help or assistance in any form has always been very hard for me, but I’ve learned that sometimes it’s ok to accept help from those who genuinely want to.
It’s funny because I am a big giver and love to make others happy, and show my appreciation in anyway I can.
I don’t have a ultimate goal or amount that I am trying to reach, but I’m setting this up more for those who are interested in helping in anyway that have reached out or is interested in supporting my journey. This isn’t about achieving a certain amount of funds or reaching a specific goal.
Rather, I’m setting this up for those who are interested in helping out & aiding me
on my journey. Life gets expensive, especially when your health gets in the mix. I appreciate all the love, support , and prayers I’ve received thus far, and I appreciate anything that you can contribute.
In the end, thank you for giving me a chance to explain my story and joining my fight against lymphoma cancer.
The world hasn’t seen the last of me, and I promise I’m gonna get out of this better than ever.
