Adoption is not new to our family by any means. And unexpected family members have been known to happen. Sometimes they are legally adopted, sometimes it’s an adoption of the heart, but regardless, the Morris Family has a history of welcoming in people that need a family. True to the Morris tradition, Lisa and Micah have dreamed of adopting for years. Last year they were able to make their dream of buying the land they live on a reality. They have a cute little house on the river in Midland and another house they rent out.  It seemed maybe it was time to start considering their next dream.  Their next dream was down the road a few years….or so they thought…..

But what do you do when a baby needs a family and a family has love to spare and room for a baby?  What do you do when a future dream is dropped into your lap now?! You make it work, of course. For some reason, when you’re a Morris, family can come in unexpected ways and without notice. Lisa and Micah are looking at the possibility of welcoming a baby into their family this summer. Yes, the baby is due in early July. This leaves Lisa and Micah with not much time to gather the necessary funds to prepare for this child. They will need to travel to another state to pick up this bundle of joy, they will need to pay for the paperwork and legal aspect of adopting a child as well as gather the things new babies need.  Adopting has been on their radar for some time but they thought they would have time to prepare, save and gather these funds. Because this opportunity has happened suddenly and unexpectedly, we have started this account to help them raise the funds needed to bring a child into their home. While this child looks certain, adoption, by its nature, isn't sure and final until the child is in the arms of the adoptive parents.  This uncertain aspect of adoption is stressful enough without the added stress of funding this adventure.  They have hearts full of love and the means to provide for the child once in their home. Their adoption expenses will start soon, though, as the legal aspect ideally gets started within the next couple of weeks.  Given the possibility, regardless of how remote, that this child does not become "our" child that we are already falling in love with, these funds will be held for the adotion journey of Micah and Lisa.
