My sister Lisa is 44 yrs old. She is a single mother of a 22 yr old son, who is currently a Senior in college.  She recently lost her job in January when the company moved out of the area. This has resulted in her losing her medical insurance.  In the last two days, she also has run out of her unemployment benefits. 

Within the last two weeks, she was told that she has a malignant melanoma that must be surgically removed.  She is facing medical bills that include surgery, possible radiation and immunotherapy treatments.  She is trying her best to have a positive attitude toward this very frightening situation but she is very worried about being able to meet the financial burdens that come with this diagnoses. 

My sister has always been determined, to say the least, but this situation is creating a huge amount of anxiety for her and our entire family.
