Hello. My name is Shari and my twin sister, Lisa, has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time after beating it the first time 12 years ago at the age of 41.  Her breast cancer both times is what is known as triple negative.  It is uncommon to have the first time, but is even more uncommon to happen a second time. It’s an aggressive cancer requiring aggressive treatment.

She recently had surgery to remove both breasts and will require the installation of a port for chemotherapy treatments.  In addition to all of this, there have been various tests that needed to be completed to determine her diagnosis and treatment plan.
 
Lisa has insurance both medical and short term disability, however, the plans don’t cover everything.  The medical insurance is a high deductible plan that requires thousands ($5400) of dollars out of pocket before it will even cover 100% of costs. To add to that, being that this is all happening at the end of the year, she will be subject to this out of pocket expense again in January 2019.

Even with short term disability insurance, Lisa will only get 60% of her normal pay.  Lisa is the sole provider of her household and is putting her daughter through college in SC as well as all the household expenses.  


Due to these shortfalls in income and medical payouts, we are estimating that she will need $20,000 to cover costs of her medical and household needs. We'd like to let Lisa’s focus be on BEATING BREAST CANCER instead of wondering how she will pay for her treatment and bills.  This is where you and Go Fund Me come in.  The medical bills have already started streaming in, and with only one income it’s an extremely stressful time for Lisa.  Any donation is greatly appreciated.
