Lisa Thurlo's road to recovery fund

Memorial day weekend 2023 started a rollercoaster for our family. My mother (Lisa Thurlo) has always suffered from anxiety and depression, but that May weekend something changed and her mild anxiety grew to a debilitating factor in her life. Through multiple doctors and medicine changes that summer and fall, recovery was something that seemed to be fading further and further away. As all of her clients know, work was not constant. With her inability to drive and totaling her vehicle, the only thing she could do was to stay home. Hope for better times was even more of a foreign object. We thought we found a solution finding an intense outpatient mental health facility where Dad took her to Greensboro for 6 weeks. We had a wonderful Christmas and a wonderful end of the year. Our New Years resolution was that that season of our life was over, and 2024 was going to be wonderful. Well, the resolution was fruitful for about a month when Mom relapsed with crippling anxiety with thoughts of taking her own life. We were heartbroken. We were at an all time low. Her doctors said there was nothing that they could do to help her and that she should seek an inpatient mental health facility for constant therapy and medication management. After being rejected by a place in Charlotte and not being able to find a place that would accept her in North Carolina our focus shifted to other states. Mom found a wonderful place in Monticello, Florida (30 minutes East of Tallahassee) and we moved her into The Sanctuary Monticello on March 17th. The Sanctuary is a mental health facility based on Christian values. She has experienced incredible healing through devotionals and prayers, group and individual therapys, and medication management. After only 2 weeks we are starting to see the Lisa we all know and love start to shine through! The caveat for the incredible healing that has and is going to happen is that insurance does not cover the cost for her stay in Florida. Her anticipated stay is for 30 days, and we are traveling down every weekend to spend time with her on Sundays. Transformation is visible, but it has taken a long time and has come with mounting financial hardships. In addition, we ask for prayer for brighter days and healing.
