Lisa Marie Richardson, 51 of North East, MD, passed away peacefully Monday morning, December 23, 2019 with her loving family by her side.

Lisa was a Leo, born August 11th, 1968 at Wilmington General Hospital. She was Leslie and Robert’s firstborn child and the first grandchild on both sides.

Lisa was to become the big sister to her four younger siblings. She was a wild big sister with an endless supply of love for all of them. She is survived by 3 sisters: Jennifer L. Cipolla (Michael) of Newark, DE, Angela Spinella (Hank) of Hyattsville, MD and Rachel C. Pupillo (Anthony) of New Castle, DE and preceded in death by her brother Robert “Bobby” F. Wulkewicz.

Lisa gave birth to 4 beautiful babies and was a spunky, loving, beautiful, ambitious and caring mother to them. She is survived by her son Craig F. Wulkewicz (Kristen) of Perryville, MD, and her daughters Annette V. Bedell of Wilmington, DE, Brooke J. Bedell of Dover, DE and Lauren D. Richardson of North East, MD. Her love ran deep for her children, and her love grew exponentially with the coming of each of her grandchildren: Janyia Lynn Oliver (11), Sophia Noel Wulkewicz (10), Jeremiah Jordan Bedell (9), and Stevie Tierra-Elaine Mason (1).

She took her energetic personality and her knack for taking a joke too far into every environment she was in. She delivered the highest work ethic in all her jobs, making close friends at Bruce Hemphill Law Firm and the Cecil County Courthouse.

Lisa was married to Timothy Richardson on February 14th, 2003 sharing close to 17 years of marriage together.

During the second week of June, 2019, Lisa become aware of the devastating news that she had cervical cancer, and began her brave journey fighting it. The 4b staging was confirmed by PET SCAN the end of July. Lisa powered through 10 days of radiation in August and began chemotherapy in October. Lisa’s cancer journey comprised of more strength than the average person as she also had severe anxiety of hospitals and medication. Over the last 6 months she faced fear after fear, from taking new medications, to participating in new test procedures and the combination of both: taking new medications before new test procedures. Each fear was tackled and sometimes buffered with help from her sister Rachel.

Knowing the association between chemotherapy and physical regression/tiredness/weakness, she requested to begin chemotherapy in October, so she could fully enjoy three events that she was looking forward to: a night in Ocean City MD planned with her three sisters, her daughter, Lauren’s homecoming and her 15th birthday. There was nothing more important to Lisa than her family. Truly, the most painful part of this journey for her has always been the thought of possibly one day leaving her 15 year old daughter, Lauren behind.

Lisa enjoyed having card games at her house and playing slots with her Mother-in-law, Debbie. She also loved watching her shows, including Housewives (all types), Big Brother, Chrisley Knows Best and Keeping up with the Kardashians. In addition to her tv shows she loved horror movies, some of her favorites were “Annabelle”, “IT” and “Paranormal Activity”. Being scared by horror movies was reciprocated to others, including scaring Tim and Lauren in a variety of ways. Lisa was notorious for her non-conventional relationship with food with a surreal appetite for pasta especially from her favorite place Mrs. Robino’s in Wilmington DE. Other favorites were Outback Steakhouse and Texas Roadhouse, Stone Cold Steve Austin and sometimes cussing like a sailor, even to her very last days.

Most of all, Lisa was the strongest, most caring, selfless and forgiving person. The void she left us all with her passing cannot be filled, but the hope is that thoughts of her will flood our vacant hearts with the kindness and compassion she showed us always.
