Lisa Owens Davis Fund for Diversity in Security

Lisa devoted her career to national security and was an expert in nuclear weapons issues.  She was adventurous, athletic, and hilarious -- a loving mother and daughter and wife who died unexpectedly of cancer at the peak of her power. Throughout her career Lisa fought for diversity and inclusion in national security affairs.  The need for more diversity in her field is widely recognized.  

This scholarship honors her legacy by creating a fund to advance the career aspirations of women and minority students pursuing careers in national security at her graduate alma mater, the Monterey-Middlebury school of international studies. The scholarship will support the next generation of Lisas who are committed to making the world a better place for all.  This is the surest way to bring needed change in the governmental and academic institutions responsible for national and international security.
