Help Lisa Fight Breast Cancer – Support for Surgery & Recovery

My good friend Lisa who has always been there for others in times of need (myself included) is now in need of help for herself. She was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, a diagnosis no one wants to receive and is in need of any assistance possible to help make this fight less of a struggle. Our goal is to lessen the financial burden that comes with this diagnosis and treatment so Lisa can just focus on the road ahead and getting better. Please see the below message from Lisa detailing her prognosis :

Hi friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

I never imagined I’d be writing this, but I’ve recently been diagnosed with DCIS (Ductal Carcinoma In Situ), ER/PR+ breast cancer on 3/17/2025. Since then, it’s been a whirlwind of doctor’s appointments, tough decisions, and trying to stay strong. It’s been an overwhelming and emotional journey, and now I’m facing a double challenge: beating cancer and making ends meet during recovery.

I’ll be undergoing surgery on July 2nd that will consist of a mastectomy with reconstruction and removing 2-3 lymph nodes for further testing to determine if additional treatment will be needed. This will then be followed by a second surgery later to complete the reconstruction process. After that, I’ll begin hormone-blocking therapy which is not ideal as Bill and I have been trying to expand our family, but necessary to help prevent the cancer from returning. Each surgery will require me to be out of work for 4 to 6 weeks, while still being expected to cover bills, medical expenses, and daily living costs.
