Lisa Morrow Sheaffer Covid Assistance

Lisa Morrow Sheaffer was a healthy, 38-year old mother of two, with no preexisting conditions who came down with a very serious case of Covid-19 and a bacterial infection of an unknown source.  Lisa was hospitalized on December 21, 2020, spent 5 days in the ICU, and remains on the respiratory unit.                                          

Lisa works as a front-line home health occupational therapist. It is unknown at this time how long her hospitalization will extend, or when she’ll be able to return to work, resulting in a reduction in their household income. With her hospitalization spanning two calendar years, the family will be facing out-of-pocket expenses for the deductibles and coinsurance for both 2020 and 2021, which is a significant amount adding to the stress the family is already under.
