As you may know, 28 years ago, Lisa had a stem cell transplant when fighting non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. She was her own donor and conquered the disease. Fast forward to today. The result of the original transplant has led her down this road...Acute Myeloid Leukemia and another life-saving transplant. A 29-year-old female from Europe has donated her stem cells. Day 0 was August 9th. So many people have asked us how they can help. Our extended family suggested a Go Fund Me to help with food and lodging. Trust us, when we say that Lisa is a giver, NEVER a taker, this notion of people wanting to simply help is probably the toughest pill for her to swallow. However, Lisa will have a month-long stay in the hospital (with lackluster food) while Dave has moved into a nearby hotel. Upon discharge, Lisa will remain in Omaha in case of infection. Her goal is to be home by Thanksgiving. Thank you for your prayers, calls and texts. We are surrounded by your love and blessed by your generosity.

UPDATE: In just a few short hours, our initial goal has almost been met! Whoa! This is incredible. I know Lisa is going to be completely shocked when I share the numbers with her tomorrow morning (August 11th). She will be really mad, but I am raising the goal tonight and will ask for forgiveness in the morning. Sorry, not sorry, Leesie, but people love and care about you!!!!! (And, apologies to my other two sisters - Lindsey and Lenae - who are both nurses and have to work tomorrow. I didn't run this by you either!)

8-12-23 UPDATE: Thank you kind people! We are totally blown away by the generosity of our friends/family near and far! I propose we make one last push. I did the math and would love for funds to be available to pay for Lisa's house rental in Omaha when she is out, Dave's hotel stay while she is in, quality meals/food/groceries brought in and items to keep Lisa comfortable. Thank you for making this happen!
