Lisa & Jason’s wish to marry

**UPDATE** Sadly Jason passed away on 23-01-2022, as they did not make the wedding funds will now go towards Jasons funeral and the celebration of his life. We hope every person that donated is happy for us to use these funds for his final send off and give him the day he deserves. 

Lisa & Jason’s love story started some 30 years ago when they were childhood sweethearts at 16. Through no fault of their own they drifted apart and went their separate ways. Some 30 years later and with the help of Facebook they found each other again. They met up and have been inseparable ever since. That was 7 months ago, they have talked about marriage in the future and had no doubt that this was what they both wanted. Sadly 7 weeks ago Jason went to the doctors for advice on his restless legs only for the doctors to find that his liver enzymes were sky high so they carried out some tests. Then they got the devastating news that Jason has colon cancer that has spread to his liver and was diagnosed with terminal stage 4 secondary liver cancer, unable to operate he has to undergo chemotherapy to help shrink the tumour. On December 9th surrounded by family Lisa proposed to Jason under the glass heart at Bute park and he said ‘Yes’ it was perfect. They are desperate to marry and I want to help raise as much money as possible to give them the wedding they truly deserve. Time is not on our side which is why I have set up this page, as Lisa’s sister my wish is to see them happy and exchanging vows in front of their family and friends. Jason has had a tough time and lost both his mother and younger brother to cancer and has battled cancer twice before himself. His and our families are all devastated and cannot imagine what they are going through so I feel although I cannot take this away I can try and do all I can to help. We are lucky to have such amazing families and friends who have already shown us all so much love by offering help for the wedding but as we all know weddings don’t come cheap and I don’t believe theirs should be any less of a celebration than anyone who has years to plan theirs. Any donation big or small is greatly appreciated and will be used towards a very emotional and memorable day for them. I love you both so much and hope we can make your day as magical as we possibly can.
