Lisa DiStasio Kidney Transplant
Spende geschützt
My mother's name is Lisa DiStasio. She is 46 years old, and I'm raising money to help with the expenses for a potential kidney transplant.
She was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease in 2003 and has been fighting its progression since. At this time, my mother's disease has depleted the function of her kidneys, which is irreversible. She will soon be on dialysis which requires her to stop working.
My mother served in the United States Air Force from 1992 to 2002 as a Munitions-Systems Specialist. She went to Korea and Kuwait.
My sister is 21 years old and I am 18. My mother has made it possible for my sister to complete college in her field of choice and is currently helping me with my college expenses. My mother was also responsible for our grandmother's care for many years. My mother is very important to not only us but also to all the people she serves in her position at the bank where she works.
We are hoping for a transplant sooner rather than later and have been working diligently to spread the word. The money we receive will be used towards the donor's expenses and the overall medical bills not covered for the actual surgery, follow-up, and prescriptions. She is in the process of being listed on Yale New Haven Hospital's transplant list (New Haven, CT) and will be applying for a NYC hospital as well. Any money donated is greatly appreciated.
Please help me in raising money for a healthier and longer life for my mother.
