Lisa DeSpain Medical Fundraiser

Lisa DeSpain was diagnosed with primary Stage IV Glioblastoma Multiforme brain cancer several months ago.   She has had major surgeries and has been hospitalized several times due to bloodstream infections.  As a result of the infections, she is no longer eligible for an OMRF clinical trial.   Lisa is also a survivor of breast cancer which was diagnosed in 2016.   Lisa (who is an RN PhD) is unable to work due to the illness.

She is now scheduled for a  special cutting-edge cancer-fighting vaccine on July 11th at Duke University which is located at Durham, N.C.  She is in need of immediate travel funds to buy roundtrip airline tickets for this trip.  She will need to return to Durham 4 more times for follow up. 

Her sole family support is her son, Nick, who is a talented musician living in California.  He helps her at home and drives her to medical appointments and gives her a lot of encouragement and support.  He has seen her through all the hospitalizations and is vital to her recovery.
