Lisa & Chris Kirk Wildfire Recovery Fund

Our dear friends Chris & Lisa Kirk of Telperion Farms lost their home on September 8th, 2020 in the wildfires near Lyons/Mehama, Oregon. They've lost their home, their bonsai business, their outbuildings and all of their personal property.
Chris and Lisa were awakened in the middle of the night by a neighbor pounding on their door telling them the fires were close and they needed to evacuate. City alerts had not been working and there was almost no notice. They escaped with only the clothes on their back and their dogs. In a matter of hours their property had been consumed.
We are raising funds for immediate resources to help them get through these next weeks and months as they find suitable lodging and replace essentials. We'd like to be able to get this help to them as quickly as possible and ask for your help raising as much as possible in the next 11 days so that we can conclude this GoFundMe collection by September 20th (which also happens to be Lisa's birthday).

On a personal note to the knitting community: Lisa has been a test knitter, sample knitter and key supporter of the Olive Knits community since the day my business was born. When she escaped her home a few nights ago, she left with only the clothes on her back and the sweater sample she had just finished for me. She didn't even grab her own knitting bag or other personal essentials. I can't even type this without crying. This is just an example of how selfless Lisa is and that she always puts others first, never asking for anything for herself. I am asking my community - and anyone who loves Chris & Lisa - to extend that same love to them as they find the strength to move forward at this difficult time.
