Lipton is suffering from a painful abscessed tooth. We noticed that our typically playful and cuddly cat was not himself. He was stressed out, licking himself bald and peeing on our things. This was very unusual for him, so we took him to the vet right away. The results came back with an abscessed tooth. The bill to get it fixed was a whopping 2,220 dollars. We are not in a position to afford it, meanwhile our cat continues to suffer. On top of that, infections resulting from abscessed teeth can lead to death when left untreated.
Lipton is a special and unusual cat. We adopted him from an animal shelter when he was 2 months old. He was an under-socialized kitten, basically wild. Lipton was never expected to adjust to human companionship, yet in time he grew to be very attached to us. The bond that grew between us was so special that we wrote and illustrated a book about him that is currently in the process of being published. Lipton means the world to us, and we seem to mean a great deal to him, too.
If you are in a position to do so, please consider giving a donation to help fund Lipton's dental procedure. He is a young cat and is otherwise very healthy. With this simple but costly procedure, he could be restored to perfect health.
We, of course, will appreciate the help, but it's not really about us. It's about Lipton. Help Lipton and I know he will appreciate it so much, and return once more to his playful, cuddly self.
Because Lipton is in pain, the sooner we can afford the surgery, the better for him. If left untreated, the infection could threaten Lipton's life.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration in this urgent matter.
