We are the family of Michael Lipan and we come to this platform for help in a time we never imagined we would have to endure.

Two weeks ago our brother and son was injured horribly while riding scooters with his friends. It was a hit and run that left him in a coma with severe and irreversible brain damage. Detectives still work to find the one who hit him. Throughout the week the damage suffered from the impact only resulted in finding him in a worse and worse state of health despite the incredible care he was receiving in the ICU. This past Sunday morning, July 20, 2025, Michael was declared brain dead and with heavy hearts we announce that he is no longer with us.

In just 23 years Michael lived more than some do in 80 and he happily worked to the bone every single day to accomplish his dreams. He was never brought down by anything. He was healthy and strong, far more intelligent than many might imagine, and in every photo and video we have of him he is smiling. As unfortunate as it is, even after his death he was able to do one last favor for the world and was found eligible for organ donation, giving 6 lives a new beginning.

Although it pains us, we find as much peace as we can in knowing that this was the plan God had in mind for us. We may never know why such a tragedy as this has occurred to us, but if the Lord wanted him so soon, so be it.
