Lion's Life Matters

Donation protected
Two Good Samaritans, Steve and Arlie, contacted The Rescue Train, after witnessing a small dog get hit by a car in South Central. Steve heard screeching and yelping so he quickly turned his car around and saw a sweet little dog dragging itself by its two front legs to the curb.  The other car kept going. They rushed the dog to an after-hours’ animal emergency room.

The dog shattered her pelvis on both sides, and needs major surgery to survive. She was not microchipped, not spayed, and was likely homeless. The vet said it would cost thousands of dollars. She suggested euthanasia. The dog’s eyes pleaded for help, so Steve and Arlie decided to take her home. They adopted from The Rescue Train before, and reached out to see if we could take her onboard.

On The Rescue Train, “life matters,” and we can’t put a price on it. We know broken bones heal. Looking into her eyes, we saw she has the will to live. She is so sweet and courageous.  Our vets at Blue Cross Pet Hospital in North Hollywood, CA are confident there’s no other injuries or nerve damage. This is what the surgeon, Dr. Barret, will be performing:

· Repair right fracture of the ileum with a bone plate.

·Repair right and left sacroiliac joint luxation with bone screws.

·Right femoral head osteotomy

With our rescue discount, we still need to raise $4,735 to save her life. We need to do this quickly as she's in pain even though we are trying to manage it with medication.

We are asking our supporters, and all the animal angels out there, to consider making a tax-deductible donation to cover her surgery. No amount is too small.

For your records our 501(c)3  tax exempt federal ID # is 20-1897642

The vet asked Steve and Arlie what they wanted to call her.  They opted to name her “Lion” since she is such a fighter and they just saw the Oscar-nominated movie. They even offered to nurse her back to good health, and eventually be ready for adoption.

With your help, this little LION will ROAR!

Love and compassion is so needed in our world right now. Thank you for considering helping us, help her!

Sincerely,
