Lionheart Digital Devices Fundraiser

In March 2020 it was announced that schools across the nation would close to all students apart from the children of key workers. Since then, a vast number of studies have been conducted to explore the impact of this unprecedented crisis on the lives of our young people. These studies have all highlighted the same problem – a stark disparity in engagement between children who have access to digital devices, and those who do not, widening the achievement gap between students in middle-class homes and working-class homes.

These findings raise ample concerns. We must provide each of our young people with access to education so that they can make a positive contribution to their current and future communities.

In response to this, the Lionheart Academies Trust has committed to providing 1500 Chromebooks to students across Leicestershire with limited access to digital devices for home learning. This project calls on the support of all members of our community. Together, with your donations we can help to provide students with technology so that they can continue their education from home. Together, we can level the playing field, ensuring that no young person in Leicestershire is left behind.
