I am a stay-at-home mom with two children, ages 4 and 1, going through a crisis since the Monday before Thanksgiving, when my husband asked me for a divorce. He is now moving out, and I must soon move myself and my two children from my home without preparation. I do not have work, savings or many other financial resources and cannot afford our current rental myself.
After weeks of thought and prayer, I have come up with a long-term plan to give my kids a safe and beautiful life that won’be dependent on anyone but me. I am attempting to move 70 miles north to my hometown of Laramie, Wyoming, where I have not lived since I was 16 years old, but where my family, friends and many potential clients reside. I have already found childcare there and have applied for and been approved for all temporary state benefits, but they will not be in place by the time I am needing to move, which is now. I have found a rental home that will work long-term that’s also affordable for us. It has been held for me for several weeks already until I can pay the first month’s rent and deposit ($1000 each). I am going to charity, and am now asking friends, family and clients for any amount of help getting this plan off the ground.
I will find employment by continuing my 8-year career in Massage Therapy. I have 3 interviews so far, including this week. I am also a recently enrolled college student online and am working towards my Bachelor’s degree in English. I hope to teach at the college level and continue to publish my own writings. These are my personal goals for the future outside of living in a safe and positive place with my children. I grew up in the same school district and am thrilled to be able to give them fantastic schooling and a quiet little town full of people I know and love!
