Linzay fights Lymphoma
Donation protected

My name is Amanda. I'm writing this on behalf of my family. Our cousin Linzay Brown is 49 years old. The father of two girls, he is a construction supervisor with 25 years of experience. The company he worked for went under in March, so while waiting for his next job to start, Linzay went home to Eunice to help his parents maintain and make repairs on their home and cattle farm. He was also helping his mom care for his father, who has significant health issues. In July, Linzay was diagnosed with Stage 3 Large B cell Lymphoma. Doctors have indicated that his prognosis is good, and he has started treatment at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Baton Rouge where his sister Millie lives.

Linzay is receiving some limited federal financial assistance, but this will not be nearly enough to cover all his medical and living expenses during his treatment. His chemotherapy is expected to last through February 2024. Even though he has lost significant weight and is dealing with weakness, pain and lesions in his mouth, Linzay maintains his signature sense of humor. Getting back to being a wage earner is out of the question for the upcoming months. So, we are asking that you lend a hand to promote and ease Linzay’s healing journey by contributing to this fund to help cover his expenses while he’s undergoing treatment. (We have set our initial goal as $10,000, though it's hard to know what his medical expenses will be in the future.) A heads up to those who plan to donate: as helpful and powerful a tool as GoFundMe is, it now has its donation page set up to add a DEFAULT 15% tip that goes to GoFundMe, NOT Linzay. If you don't want to add that tip for the GFM organization, then just slide the little button to the left, from 15% to 0% (or whatever amount you choose). Also, if you are old school and still know how to write a check, you can always send one directly to Linzay at:
