My name is LinhChi Du.
I was born and raised in San Jose, California. I am currently a 4th year Business Management and Economics major with a Psychology minor at UC Merced. Next Spring, I will start my venture to study abroad in Rome, Italy!
After years of hardwork and long work days, I am excited to say I am one step away from graduating. I am proud to say that I have independently put myself through college! My loving parents have worked so hard and I have given me so much, I did not want them to worry about expenses for my college career. When I left for college, I began working right away. In addition, I applied for many loans as well as grants to put myself through college. It was not an easy task, but I have managed to support myself these past couple years. It has built my character and made me a stronger, independent person.
Now, I only need a couple of units left to graduate and get my degree. I have worked hard in school to be able to create the opportunity for myself to study abroad. This has been a dream of mine since grade school and this is my last chance to fulfill it. However, I will not be able to work when I am abroad and hope to be able still support myself throughout my journey there.
I would use these funds to pay for my program in Rome, Italy. This study abroad program is called "Art, Food and Society, UC Center Rome". I would be able to live in Rome while experiencing and learning about it's rich culture. The money raised here would help pay for my tuition and living expenses while I would be a full time student.
For this reason, I made this account to reach out to my friends and family that would like to help support me through my expedition to Italy! Any donation would be enormously appreciated. Thank you for helping me follow through with my study abroad experience!
