Lindsey’s Funeral Arrangments

Hi, I am fundraising for my sister's continued medical treatment and rehabilitation.

As many of you know in August of 2020 Lindsey sustained a spinal cord
injury and brain injury after being hit head-on by a car while riding
her bike on a forest service road. Lindsey has made amazing strides
and has been 90% self-sufficient.

In December 2022, Lindsey came down with a respiratory infection and
with difficulty breathing. She was treated at the Aspen ER. She
returned home with my wife and me in Snowmass and rapidly declined. She
was then admitted to Aspen Valley hospital for a week before being
life-flighted to an acute hospital in Denver. After a week of intense
testing, she was released from the hospital with no real diagnosis.
During this time she is requiring more and more oxygen to breathe. She
spent a week in Snowmass at home before I called 911 due to her being
hypoxic and having an extreme weakness. Lindsey was again life-flighted
back to Denver. After some back and forth we transferred Lindsey to
National Jewish Hospital which is the leading pulmonary hospital in
the country in Denver. We still have no defined understanding of why
she can no longer breathe without oxygen. She has been diagnosed with
severe COPD and blood clots.

As many of you know Lindsey is an athlete and takes very good care of
herself. Lindsey does yoga, goes on hikes, and rides a stationary
bike daily. Since this illness, she has lost almost 15 pounds and most of her
muscles. Lindsey struggles to get up and walk so the use of her
wheelchair is back in play. Lindsey deserves her adventurous life back
and to get stronger. She is currently at an acute rehabilitation
hospital for 10 days. Lindsey will go back to Craig hospital to do
outpatient acute therapy but they will not have a bed for her until
the first week in March. Due to the nature of the increased elevation
of 4000 feet here in Snowmass, it isn't best for Lindsey to return
right away. We also believe that additional physical therapy and
no loss of time between acute rehab and going back to Craig for rehab
allows for the best return to normal life. With that being said we are
posting this GoFund to raise the funds needed for this additional
out-of-pocket physical therapy and housing.

We sincerely appreciate all of your support and hope that you will
help Lindsey further her journey of independent walking and life.
Thank you
