Lindsey's Fight Against Breast Cancer
Donation protected
As many of you know, our sweet, dear friend Lindsey has been fighting a hard and courageous battle for over a year now. On December 27th, 2018, Lindsey was diagnosed with Stage 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer. In all, she endured a total of 17 rounds of chemotherapy, 28 rounds of radiation, and 2 major surgeries. Thankfully, after her final surgery in September 2019, she was deemed “cancer free”.

On January 6th, 2020 she had her first set of clear scans since finishing her treatment. Shortly thereafter, she began a new maintenance treatment: immunotherapy. In February, she began experiencing lower back pain. After several tests, we received the news, the cancer is back. Not only is the cancer back, but the cancer has now spread to several lymph nodes as well as her back. On February 21st, 2020, Lindsey and her soon-to-be-husband Joey’s lives were forever changed. Lindsey is now considered stage 4 metastatic non-curable.

At this time, standard of care chemotherapy is no longer an option. Lindsey, Joey and her care team have decided that their best option is to explore other treatment options throughout the country. That being said, this means Joey and Lindsey will be forced to take time off of work, endure a multitude of travel expenses, and accumulate more medical bills as she receives life long treatment.

First and foremost we ask that you lift Lindsey & Joey up in prayer. Prayers for a peace that surpasses all understanding. Prayers for the strength, endurance and determination that we all know they both carry, prayers for a miracle that we know only our God can provide and prayers for every doctor, surgeon, nurse, medical assistant and care provider that comes into contact with Lindsey or her case. In addition to prayers, we are seeking donations to help alleviate the burden of all of the medical expenses that are yet to come.

While we understand not everyone is able to donate, Lindsey and Joey ask that you continue to pray for peace and comfort and support them throughout this difficult time. We thank you in advance for all of the prayers, support and shares to get the ball rolling & we will continue to share updates.

Vanderbilt Visit
Message from Lindsey
Today we visited Vanderbilt. We are feeling very optimistic about the future and the options that could potentially be available to us. We were presented with an option for a clinical trial that just opened but it has more cons than pros in our opinion. The positives about this new journey we’re on, is that my cancer is not so far progressed that we have to act immediately. We’ve been told we have a little time to review all of our options before making a decision. I’m so very thankful to be in this position even with the diagnosis we’ve been given. We don’t have a lot of other information at this time. We will be researching the trial and information that’s been provided to us and keep an open mind for what else is offered in the future! We meet with radiation oncology tomorrow, Sarah Cannon on Monday, and should know very soon if I’ve been accepted to go to MD Anderson in TX. Thank you all for your continued prayers and support. Also, because of your generous donations we are completely open and able to explore other treatment facilities and options so please provide suggestions if you have them. We hope you will continue this journey with us and we love you all!
