LINDSEY FIGHTS BREAST CANCER

Lindsey Thibeault is a mother, a friend, a daughter, a sister, a hair dresser and much more. She always has a smile on her face. Only being 38 years old She enjoys going to the gym, spending time with her family and friends. Unfortunately in late November of 2018 she found a lump, she went the doctors and she told her it was probably a cyst but she would need to go for further testing. A week after she went for a mammogram and ultra sound. The radiologist told her that he was concerned with something and she would have to come in the next day. After her biopsy she waited 4 days until they called her with the results. she received the life changing news, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The following weeks after were filled with lots of emotion, and different appointments. The day after she was diagnosed she was informed she had stage 2 invasive Lobular breast cancer and would be going through 4 rounds of chemo. She was tested for the Brca 2 gene and after two weeks found out she was positive. she would have to have a double mastectomy. After her double mastectomy she will be receiving more chemo and now radiation as well. She will also be getting her ovaries removed because of the Brca 2 gene. Lindsey insurance covers some of this but she has a high detectable and has to travel an hour or more to boston for her treatment. With all of this going on she had to cut back on work during chemo and is now completely out of work since her first surgery will be out of work for a good amount of time.
