Lindsay's life-changing surgery

Hello! My name is Amiann, and I am setting up this fundraiser for my lifelong friend, Lindsay for upcoming medical costs and travel. Below is a short write-up about why this fundraiser is being set up.

Adventurous, creative, caring, a dedicated wife, sister, daughter, aunt, friend and

speech pathologist describes Lindsay. A young woman who loves the outdoors, biking, swimming, skiing and hiking.

Lindsay’s lifestyle dramatically changed following a tick bite in 2018. She became bedbound in 2020 when, in addition to Lyme’s disease, she developed a chronic spinal leak from a spinal tap. Despite nine patches at renowned facilities, she continues to leak. She also developed painful cysts on her spinal column (called Tarlov cysts), which need surgical repair as they cause severe pain and may be the source of the leaks. Only a couple of neurosurgeons in the nation specialize in this surgery. She will travel to California on September 27th for surgery at Sutter Health Medical Center.

Despite the pain, Lindsay has shown incredible strength and fortitude. She has a strong faith and is an inspiration to those who know her. She spends her days housebound, lying on her stomach, head draped over the edge of the bed. Still, she finds the drive to make crafts to encourage others, plays games with her niece and nephews who adore her, and has tutored her niece with online schooling for the past two years. We are thankful for everyone’s prayers and are hopeful this surgery will enable her to resume a normal lifestyle. We greatly appreciate it if you could donate funds to help cover the costs of medical bills, travel and housing expenses while in California.
