Fundraiser for Lindsay Denny

Donation protected
Hi! My name is Jill Bryant and I am a childhood friend of Lindsay Denny and the Denny family. I have created this fundraiser page in hopes to raise money to assist Lindsay with her upcoming living expenses until her disability is approved (which could take up to 5 months), allowing Lindsay to focus on her recovery and regain back her independence, and a sense of normalcy. Here is her story….

As many of you may know, Lindsay sustained life-altering injuries during an accidental fall down the stairs in her townhome on March 25, 2018. She blacked out, and when she tried to get up, she was unable to move her legs - she tried strenuously to bang on the walls, hoping someone would hear her cries for help. After laying on the floor for about eight hours, a neighbor heard Lindsay and called 9-1-1.

Lindsay was brought to Henrico Doctors hospital by ambulance, where a CT/MRI and a battery of tests showed Lindsay broke her back - fracturing several vertebrae and she required emergency surgery.  During surgery, the neurosurgeon repaired Lindsay’s back with titanium rods, screws and pins. Unfortunately, what he couldn’t repair was the damage to Lindsay’s spinal cord – her spinal cord was severely damaged.

After a month at Henrico Doctors, Lindsay was transferred to MCV where she is currently receiving physical and occupational therapy.  At 35 years old, Lindsay is learning how to care for herself, and how to navigate around in her wheelchair. Although, Lindsay has been working hard during her therapy, even exceeding the expectations of her therapists, the prognosis of Lindsay being able to walk again, is highly unlikely. She has a long road ahead of her, but she continues to push herself. We are all hopeful and praying every day that Lindsay will walk again.

Lindsay will need a wheelchair accessible apartment, condo or house to live in. Many alterations will have to be made and approved before she can migrate from the hospital, into her own space. Unfortunately, this will cost a lot of money. Lindsay has been in the hospital for two-months now, unable to work, and currently has no source of income, all the while waiting for the approvable of Disability and Medicaid. This is a long, slow process.  If you could help support this GoFundMe for Lindsay Denny by donating and then sharing this page within your network, I would greatly appreciate it. She has so many of us cheering her on and supporting her. On behalf of Lindsay and myself, thank you for your donation and your support!

When you begin with believing and walk by faith you will never lose hope….
