Lindsay's Missions Trip to Africa

For as long as I can remember, I have dreamed of going to Africa on a mission’s trip, specifically the Ivory Coast. The Lord has given me a love and burden for the people of Africa, even though I have never stepped foot on the continent. I have prayed for an opportunity to go there for years but no doors have opened up. This summer, I had decided to dedicate my summer to ministry. I wanted to work a teen camp here at Pensacola Christian College, but it was not in the Lord’s will. Instead, He has opened a door for my childhood dream to come true—He has opened the door for me to go to Africa this summer! I will be going on a ten-day trip with B.I.M.I. We will be going to Senegal on the edge of the Sahara Desert to share the Gospel with the large Arabic population there. In Senegal, we will also take a crash course on how to share the Gospel in Arabic and in French. After Senegal, we will then travel to the one place that I have wanted to visit most, the Ivory Coast. There in the Ivory Coast we will spend five days with missionaries Bob and Becky Mach. They have a large outreach ministry that we will be helping with, including a sports camp and a large village Vacation Bible School. I am so excited for this opportunity but also to see how God is working in the lives of the people in Africa! As soon as I heard about this trip, I knew I had to go. This is exactly what I have been praying for and waiting for since I first met the Mach’s when I was younger. I am also excited to have the amazing opportunity to witness to the Muslims of Senegal, hopefully in their own language.

            Just like any mission’s trip, there are several things needed before going. First and foremost, I need your prayers. Nothing great happens without it first being bathed in prayer. Would you please pray for me and the other eleven people that I will be taking this trip with? Your prayers are the most important thing that you could offer us as we travel to Africa. Second, I will need to get some shots and paperwork before leaving the country. Proof of several required immunizations are needed before I will be granted access into the country. Finally, I will need to raise funds. I need around $3,700 for this trip. This will include airfare here in the States and in Africa, traveling money, food, and anything else that I might require. This cost seems big, but the experience will be priceless.

So, here’s what you can do:

-          Pray, pray, pray, pray! Please pray for us and pray that the Lord will begin working on the hearts of those that we will encounter. He knows exactly whom we will meet and whose heart will need softening. Please pray for safety while we travel and that many people will come to know Christ as the Savior on this trip!

-          Please consider giving to this trip. Like I stated, the cost is big, but I know this trip is worth every cent and more. I will not be able to earn all $3700 needed by myself, so if led by the Lord, would you consider giving to this trip?
