Help Lindsay with Life Altering Back Surgery Expenses

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

We're reaching out to you with hope and a heartfelt request for help for an incredible woman who has dedicated her life to helping others but now finds herself in need of support. Lindsay Hansen Erickson is a devoted wife and mother of two, a compassionate nurse, and an active member of our community, Lindsay always puts others before herself. Many of you know Lindsay. She has grown up here in Redwood Valley and Ukiah and has a strong ties to our community and work as a nurse at Ukiah Valley Medical Center.

Last year, Lindsay found out she had a debilitating back condition and underwent back surgery to repair her spine. Unfortunately, it didn’t last and she’s been unable to return full time to work. Recently, Lindsay received the devastating news that she needs another back surgery, a procedure essential for her to reclaim her mobility and continue her work as a nurse. The surgery, however, comes with an overwhelming cost of over $50,000 out of pocket above what the insurance pay is paying. This would be a challenge for anyone, but for Lindsay and her family, the timing could not be more difficult.

Just weeks ago, Brian and Lindsay purchased their “forever” home. But soon after moving in, they were informed that it’s deemed uninhabitable and must be vacated immediately due to serious structural issues. Now, they’re not only facing the costs associated with her surgery but are also paying a mortgage and rent simultaneously as they search for a safe place to live.

In a time where they should be focused on healing and moving forward, they’re instead battling immense financial strain and uncertainty. We’re hoping that, with your generosity, we can help ease some of their burdens, allowing Lindsay to undergo her surgery without the added stress of this financial crisis.
