This fundraiser is for Lindsay Jenkins, her husband Rich and their two daughters Beau and Leila.

Both Rich and Lindsay are part of the Police family with Rich having worked for Warwickshire Police for over 20 years and Lindsay now working in the control room.

Rich and Lindsay’s two daughters are teenagers who are both at school. The family have a multitude of pets including dogs, snakes, chickens and even a squirrel!!!

Up until the last couple of weeks the family were well, looking forward to holidays and other family events.

On 3rd March 2023 Lindsay was rushed into hospital with a rare condition called Cauda Equina Syndrome which is a rare and severe type of spinal stenosis where all of the nerves in the lower back suddenly become severely compressed.

Lindsay had emergency surgery but was left with numbness in one leg and back, limited mobility and unable to walk without aids. After a stay in hospital Lindsay was sent home to continue her recovery. Things weren’t easy at home with Lindsay struggling to get up the stairs and unable to do basic tasks such as showering without help from Rich.

Lindsay was making good progress but unfortunately her condition worsened and she was rushed back into hospital for more surgery.

Lindsay is now left without feeling in her right leg, numbness in her left leg and is in a lot of pain with further complications being discovered.

I want to raise money to refit the family bathroom at Lindsay’s home. Currently they only have a shower over the bath but with the help of friends and family I want to fit a separate walk in shower which will give Lindsay the freedom to be able to shower unaided, a basic task most of us take for granted.

I'm sure you will all wish the family all the best, these loving and dedicated public servants could not be more deserving of the support that they have always given others.

Update:

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far! I know from speaking to Rich and Lindsay that your donations are greatly received and are boosting morale! As we've managed to raise so much of our target so quickly we are going to start the bathroom work on the 10th April! Our initial plans only included a walk in shower for Lindsay but given the updates we've had a out her condition and her recovery we are now planning on fitting an accessible High level bath which is over £2000 alone.

Lindsay is still in hospital, slowly but surely making progress to try and come home trying to keep complications at bay.
There is talk of a third operation and we have no idea of when she might be.

If by some miracle we beat the total we’ll put it towards something that Lin can use to walk the dogs, see her farm animals and allow her to get out and about unaided.

Thanks again everyone, I'll post photographs of the bathroom renovations on the W/C 10th!

Update 06/04/2023 - Rich Jenkins:

Just thought I’d give an update as Lindsay has spent more than a month in hospital now.
Firstly we are absolutely blown away by everyone that has donated to Chris’s go fund me, we struggle to even look at it as it’s very emotional, and we are proud people that never thought we would need charity. It’s exciting to say the bathroom is starting Monday and should be completed before she comes out.

We don’t have a date for Lin coming out of hospital yet as they are trying to manage her pain, complications and physio programme.
She is learning to walk again and has now managed a couple of assisted steps, which is amazing.

The girls are coping well, we are extremely proud of them and they can’t wait for Mum to come home as I’m rubbish at hair and makeup advice…
Thank you again, the love and support we have had has really kept us going. ❤️
