For 18 years our family has sacrificed a lot for a very special boy who deserved all the love in the world. Marky showed us what real love is by coming into this world as a misfit, a boy not perfect in the eyes of others, yet so perfect to us.
The past 4 years each of us has been on our own difficult journey to rediscover who we are without our special Marky. After he passed we realized that life doesn't stand still and wait for us to pick up our broken hearts and catch up. Life continues on and doesn't look back, which forces us to continue on, even if we are not ready.
For Wayne and Linda the residual consequences from those years have led to relational, physical and mental health issues. Linda developed a cyst in her lower back, which needs to be removed because it’s pushing on a nerve and causing extreme pain. The father’s grief of a lost son, compounded with stressful employment related events, has put Wayne under a dark cloud of depression.
We could keep our pride and continue on... but we need to be open and real, sharing our current situation. Linda is scheduled to have back surgery in the beginning of April and will be out of work for 4-6 weeks on sick leave. Wayne has been unemployed since May 2016 and continues to search for a job but Employment Insurance is running out. We have had major car repairs, furnace repairs, and high rural hydro bills. We have considered selling our home but have put that decision on hold until after Linda’s surgery.
So we need financial help to get through the next few months. The funds would go towards our regular monthly expenses. We all need community to assist each other with this life journey. Together is a wonderful place!
