Linda's Heartache: Elsie and Boo

Hi, my name is Shaindel Beers, and I'm the Vice President of PAWS. We are a no-kill animal shelter located in Pendleton, Oregon. We have very limited capacity to help financially with pets who are not shelter pets, so when I need to, I crowdfund on my own to help pets in need.

Linda Christensen is a senior citizen who lives in Union, Oregon. Recently, her 17-year-old dog Elsie was found to have lung cancer and needed to be euthanized. In the same month, Linda suffered another heartbreaking loss. Her 4-year-old kitty Boo had had issues with urinary tract infections in the past, and she had switched him to a prescription food. Unfortunately, Boo's condition was too severe, and he passed away at only four years of age.

Linda has suffered two devastating losses in a short amount of time. The vet has agreed to work on a payment plan with her, but Linda is still having trouble paying her bills for regular living expenses on top of the vet bill for Boo's euthanasia and cremation.

If we can all chip in small amounts, we can pay off this vet bill that is $542.00. I will be happy to pay the $42 if everyone together can raise $500. Senior citizens shouldn't have to choose between taking care of their beloved pets and feeding themselves. Let's all work together to help Linda. Thank you!
