What do you do when everything in your life has been completely turned upside down by 3 (now 4) devastating events in a row?
My name is Linda Palmer, and I have dedicated my life to helping people.
I have been a massage therapist and have run my own massage business for over 23 years. My focus has been helping people, sometimes for very reduced prices if they cannot afford much.
I had recovered from 2 previous ‘not at fault’ motor vehicle accidents, and was working as much as possible to get out of the financial deficit resulting from those accidents.
In fact, before March 2019, my massage therapy business was thriving, and I was able to help a lot of people, sometimes working 10 to 12 hours a day.
Whammy #1:
I was badly injured in a car accident in March 2019 and sustained a broken neck (fractured C1), head injury, back, shoulder, hip, knee and ankle injuries, and severe digestive issues due to the neck and back injuries. I was lucky to be alive with the C1 fracture, but was completely out of work for 5 months due to the injuries, and was only able to return to work on an extremely limited basis.
My car was totaled, and I had to replace it, resulting in car payments.
My amazing family and friends have helped financially as much as possible, but it could be 2 to 3 more years before the lawsuit I had to file will go to court.
Whammy #2:
I was working on recovering from those injuries when I was infected with Covid in July 2020 at the doctor’s office, where I went for the car accident injuries. I have been ill with Long Covid for nearly 2 years now.
I have been experiencing 85% of the associated symptoms and am currently barely able to work. I am receiving therapy and am improving, but some days, I still do not even have the energy to get out of bed.
For the last 2 years, I have spent many hours trying to obtain grant and/or loan assistance, without success (due to the car accident, and loss of income). At this point my last hope is Go Fund Me and the incredible kindness and support of other caring people.
Whammy #3:
I was recently informed that my landlord wants to sell the townhouse where I have been living for 27 ½ years. I had planned and committed to buying the home that I have found safety in while recovering and isolating. However, I have been unable to purchase it due to these and previous setbacks, and my landlord will not wait. I have yet to find a new place to live.
Now Whammy #4:
Last month the storage unit that I had rented was burglarized twice. It is completely devastating, especially with what I am already going through. I have not yet had the time or energy to go through everything, however, based on what I have discovered so far, a lot was stolen or damaged. Based on the footprints, they even walked and stood on fragile boxes that are now crushed.

How You Can Help: My dream is to be able to stay in my home, so that I do not experience more setbacks. However, I cannot currently cover the $300,000 cost of the house.
So my goal is to raise $38,000 by June 20th to help me pay my bills, find a place to live, obtain assistance packing and moving.
The injuries and illness make packing extremely difficult. I cannot afford to have anyone help me pack, or help me to move.
With the increase in rent and housing prices, I currently have no idea where I can afford to live, and am in immediate danger of having to live on the street. I cannot imagine surviving that with the injuries and Long Covid that I am still dealing with every day.
I have been advised by my Doctors at the Post Covid Clinic that it could currently be very dangerous for me if I am re-infected with Covid, and that I need to avoid stress. Yeah, right. Due to that and the injuries and health issues, I am still mostly isolating at home.
I have always tried to be self-sufficient and never thought that I would find myself in such challenging situations or having to ask for help.
Please share this Go Fund Me Request. #RecoverAfterTripleWhammy! #RecoverAfterQuadrupleWhammy! #RecoverAfterQuadWhammy!
I am very grateful every day for the people who have helped me get this far! I am determined that I will be able to get my life back and help more people again as soon as possible.
I really appreciate any support, no matter how small, since it gives me hope and the motivation to keep on fighting.
My deepest gratitude, not only for any donations but also for your good thoughts, prayers and your invaluable time and attention.
Thank you all so very much!
Linda
