Linda's Cancer Treatment & Daughter's Caregiving
Donation protected
My friend Linda, who just moved back to Upstate South Carolina a couple months ago, discovered that her breast cancer has returned. She will immediately begin 1 plus years of treatment. 61-year-old Linda is a single mom and only caregiver for her adult daughter who has special needs. They are in shock and trying to get their footing. Since these ladies have just moved here, they have very little support already developed.
Caregivers are urgently needed to stay with Linda's daughter while her mother is getting chemotherapy, attending medical appointments, having surgery and/or radiation in the next year. This extra care will be costly. Other unexpected expenses include the insurance company's high deductible/out-of-pocket expenses for the cancer treatment that will accrue for Linda within the next two months (then again at the beginning of next year). Linda was being paid a tax-free stipend to be her daughter's caregiver until they moved back to South Carolina, so there has been significant loss of income while also continuing to bear the costs of an expensive move.
If you are covid vaccinated and able to volunteer for caregiving, transportation, yard work, light housework or similar (or interested in becoming a certified paid caregiver for her daughter), please contact me through this site as soon as possible. (Linda's daughter has autism and some cognitive delays but is very verbal, interactive, mobile, sociable, etc.)
If you are able to make a monthly or one-time monetary donation to this GoFundMe account, any contribution would be much appreciated. Linda and her daughter ask God's blessings on all who can assist.
